RAID構築

RAID1を組みたいと思い玄人志向のRAIDカード(ATA133RAID-PCI2)と250GBのHDD(HDT722525DLAT80)を2個買った。ヨドバシでRAIDカードが1890円、HDDが8770円。
(行けなかった旅行申込用の現金を握りしめたままヨドバシに行ったら思いのほかHDDが安かったのでRAID1を組もうと衝動買い)

NetBSD-3.0-stable/i386に入れたところディスクはwd2,wd3と認識された。あれっOSから一つに見えないのかと、調べることに....

RAIDカードにはITE製のIT8212が載っており、NetBSDでもサポートPCIデバイスの欄に「ITE IT8212 (GigaRAID)」とあるのでRAIDができると思ったのだが、よくよく見るとRAIDの欄ではなくディスクコントローラの欄に書かれている。

ということは、RAID機能は駄目で、ディスクを増設した形になるのかな。BIOSでRAID1を指定しているのにディスクが2個に見えるのはちょっと気持ち悪いが、ソフトウェアRAIDで冗長性をとりますかね。
